I disconnect because I disable other processes including AV because again this is a 10 yr old low end PC which can still play the game, just nothing like Ps3/4 or high end machines can.
I've already used sjaacks trainer and I've also used OpenIV to adjust handling for some vehicles and obviously I'm not playing online since I disconnect. Otherwise I haven't had any game issues and yes I can mod stuff.
But as I say, I think killing Steam will kill the game since you can't even run the game except through Steam to start with. So when I'd run those games from their GTLauncher.exe alone, there was ZERO stuttering/choppiness. I have GTA IV/EFLC and even they would stutter when Steam was running. If I try terminating Steam, it will kill the game, at least I'm betting it will because of all of the stupid DRM but then again those of us who legitimately purchase our games have been "victims" of this invasive DRM nonsense for years. Those won't terminate because they reinitialize and report again that you're "signed out in Offline Mode" etc. And I think more of that has to do with the fact that Steam is running and also 4-5 "subprocesses" for the freaking Social Club exe. I have the game on a very low end 10 yr old PC and though it is a little choppy here or there, its playable. Social Club eventually says I'm ".signed out (Offline Mode), connection to SC servers lost" and I was still able to play the game without issue. So I was like, why does it act like it needs to verify every time I start the game?!?! So anyways, I had disconnected from the internet after about 3 load screens passed. Then I ran Steam, launched game, SC appears and says I'm signed in, then a couple times tells me "its taking longer than usual to verify ownership" or some nonsense. So I signed into SC in a browser with the "keep me signed in" checked. It tells me I needed to select "keep me signed in through a web browser", apparently. So Social Club tells me that "Offline mode" is not available since I am not logged into SC. I tried then to disconnect from internet, it signed me out and stopped the game. So I launch, it asks me to link accounts and activate. Game MUST launch through Steam is what Social Club reports to me as GTA IV/EFLC you can launch from its own GTALauncher.exe apart from Steam. I haven't tested various scenarios yet but this was my experience.ĭownload game -forever on severely slow connection. What I do not like is that yes Steam and Social Club needs to run whilst playing the game unless someone has a "fix" somewhere. Hi Lets Go Bowling, actually I have the Steam version I just bought last weekend. So if my internet goes down i can't continue playing? Good to hear there's no issue with the mods. So on Steam or either way you have to be connected to the internet at all times if you want to play single player mode? And you're right, Steam works out even cheaper with the sale they have on just now, only £15.99. It also says on the Dreamgame product description " NOTE: Installation and online play requires log-in to Rockstar Games Social Club (network internet connection required for activation, online play, and periodic entitlement verification." Cheapest i found here was £18.78 on Dreamgame, so works out a bit cheaper than than G2A.com. No issues with connection speed, i'm on 100Mbits, though probably half of that is more accurate given the speed tests. The reason I mention those two sites is because he can get the game cheaper there if he wishes to get the social club version which some people prefer over Steam and There are no sales on Social Club version so he would be paying Full price $59.99 My first reply did in fact answer his question, I told him if his internet speed was decent then get digital if not Go with hard copies with decent speeds he can download it in matter of hours but with slow speeds it can take up to 24 hours and some people dont have the patience for it which is what I said in my first and repeated in my second post as well. The OP was asking about mod support, which you have not been able to answer in either of your long posts.Īnd I think most people know how digital downloads work, yes GTA5 is very big and will take several hours to download, its about to be 2018 lol Your first reply did not answer any of the OPs questions, then your 2nd reply basically repeated what I said. Its funny how you keep advertising some website like you work for them, do you get paid for spamming ads or something?
